“What’s for supper, mom?” That was the million dollar question in our house growing up. It drove mom crazy when we asked and she hadn’t planned anything. Then we’d end up taking some processed macaroni or canned soup or something from a box and making it up quick.
And looking back that’s something we wish we would have done less! Can you relate?
Since you’re committed to raising your family right, I wanted to share this quick recipe that I know you’ll enjoy. It takes hardly any time at all! With a little foresight and you can have a steamy hot main dish waiting for you after your busy day.
And you won’t feel guilty. It’s soooo delicious and good for you!
Ingredients
- 1 4-lb Pork roast (works with beef, too)
- 1 tablespoon seasoning salt (or 1/2 teaspoon salt plus 1/2 teaspoon black pepper)
- 1/2 cup of water
- Medium size crock-pot
Instructions
- Take your pork roast out of the freezer to thaw in the refrigerator the night before (not essential, but cooks faster if thawed). Place roast in your crock-pot and sprinkle the seasoning salt on the roast. Add water. Place cover on crock-pot and cook on low heat for 8-10 hours. Slice and serve!
This recipe is perfect to prepare in the morning before heading to work or dropping the kids off at school. By dinner time the house smells delicious and the roast will melt in your mouth! Pork fat juices contain many healthy vitamins, so be sure and enjoy the thin layer of healthy fats with your roast.
Check it out and let us know what you think when you try it! 🙂
P.S. We’re filling our final orders for pastured pork to be sent to the butcher next week, and the cutoff is this Saturday. Be sure to get in early because we will be sold out on our last batch for 2018 soon.
